I’ve been playing guitar in bands since the late 1990s, starting with RapeSeed, Bedtime Jeremy and Morgans Puff Adder and ending up (for now) with Hostile Tides. Along the way, I played mandolin and banjo in Los Salvadores, a chaotic folk punk outfit, who ended up completely acoustic while maintaining their punk roots. I also make knives through Selfe Made Knives.
About two years ago I built my first guitar, my own take on a Telecaster, and I loved every minute of it.

Working with your hands, understanding how something is built, knowing why it does what it does, that’s always been my thing. In September 2025 I completed a professional guitar setup course with Adam Pinner of Arcus Guitars.

Based in Sittingbourne, Kent, I now offer that service to players across the area. I know what a well set-up guitar feels like because I’ve spent decades playing them. I also know what a badly set-up one feels like, and I get great pleasure from being able to turn it back into that guitar you enjoy playing.
