FAQ

Common questions about guitar setup and how it works.

Deep clean of the body, neck and fingerboard. Electrics cleaned and serviced. Truss rod adjusted. Action, nut and intonation set. Pickups voiced. Loose parts checked and tightened (machine heads, jack socket, strap buttons). Basically, everything that affects how your guitar plays.

A full setup is £65 plus strings. Re-stringing on its own (with a clean) is £20 plus strings. Strings are charged at cost, so whatever you’d pay in a shop.

About three days, usually. I’ll give you a more accurate idea when I see the guitar. If there’s something complicated going on, I’ll let you know upfront before I start.

Not at the moment. Electric guitars only.

Buzzing frets. Action that’s too high or too low. Tuning that won’t stay stable. Intonation that drifts the further up the neck you go. Notes that feel stiff or awkward to play. If any of that sounds familiar, it probably needs a setup. Or just drop me a message and describe what’s happening. I’ll tell you what I think.

Yes, for an additional fee. If you’re in Kent or the Medway area, get in touch and we’ll sort something out.

Use the contact form to drop me a message. Tell me your name, what you’d like done, and your guitar’s make and model. I’ll get back to you within a day or two.

I’ll run through what I found and what I adjusted. If there’s anything else worth knowing about the guitar, I’ll mention it.
