Guitar Services

Professional electric guitar setup in Sittingbourne, Kent. From a guitarist who knows exactly how one should play.

Every guitar that comes through here gets two to three hours of bench time, minimum. Often more. That covers clean, electrics service, truss rod, action, string radius, tremolo, nut and intonation, all checked and dialled in, and the guitar test-played on the bench using my own strobe tuner software, TrueStrobe Tuner, for 0.1 cent precision. Floyd Rose setups are included at standard pricing, no surcharge.

I do the work myself, same hands from drop-off to pick-up. I completed my professional setup training with Adam Pinner of Arcus Guitars in September 2025. Three day turnaround for a standard setup, and if anything comes up that needs parts or extra time, you’ll hear from me with a cost before I touch it.

How drop-off actually works (and why people drive over for it)

My workshop is in Sittingbourne, ME10 1LT. You bring the guitar to me. I work on it. You come back and pick it up three days later. That’s the whole shape of it. No mystery, no courier handover, no “leave it with reception”.

I’ll confirm a drop-off slot by message first so I’m in and the bench is clear when you turn up. Hardcase or gigbag, doesn’t matter. Before you come over I need three things from you: the make and gauge of strings you use, the tuning you keep it in, and whether you want a straight setup or there’s a specific issue you’re chasing. That’s it. Same for any guitar coming in, not just the awkward ones.

Getting here from the rest of Kent and Medway

Sittingbourne is easily accessible from both the M2 and the M20. Ten minutes down the A2 or A249 and you’ll be with me.

From Sheppey it’s the bridge and ten minutes down the A249. From Faversham, fifteen minutes the other way on the A2. Maidstone, Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester are all a half-hour or so along the M2. Canterbury is usually well under half an hour on the A2. Further south (Ashford, Tenterden, that way) allow 45 to 50 minutes.

None of that is a hard sell. If you’ve got a brilliant tech five minutes from your house, use them. The reason to drive over is you’re handing the guitar directly to me, the person who’s going to work on it. You’re getting it back from the same person. And if you’ve got questions, it’ll be me answering them.

What I don’t do

I don’t do mobile visits. Setting up a guitar properly needs a bench, decent light, the strobe tuner software running on a screen, and about half a day of not being interrupted. A kitchen table won’t get you a result you’d be happy paying for.

Why bother driving here

It’s me on the bench. I trained with Adam Pinner at Arcus Guitars in 2025. I’ve been playing in bands since the late 90s. No apprentice doing the setup while the named tech does the talking. You get the guitar back from the same person you handed it to.

Three days for a standard setup. Longer if it needs parts ordering in. Fixed prices so you know what you are paying, and if an issue arises, I will let you know, and give you a cost to repair before anything is done.
